Our journey through Azerbaijan is happening right now, and this is our first impression of Baku: clean, safe and welcoming. The Flame Towers rise above green parks, while Baku Boulevard follows the Caspian waterfront. Here stand the striking Deniz Mall and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, shaped like a rolled carpet. As the sun goes down, the skyline changes from warm colours to bright city lights. From above, the long waterfront shows how open and modern Baku feels. By night, the lights along the Caspian give the city a calm, lively glow.
