Why I built Wanouzhou

I built Wanouzhou because I remember very clearly how confusing travel can feel the first time you arrive in a very different place. Over the last few years I have been to China five times. During my first trips in China, even basic things were not obvious at first: where to buy tickets, how an online train ticket works, and how a passport is checked at the station. It took me a while to understand the practical details.

Trip.com helped me a lot in China. Before I really understood WeChat and Alipay, Trip.com gave me a simple way to book hotels, trips and train tickets reliably anyway. It made train booking in particular much easier. Since then, I have kept using Trip.com in Asia, especially in China.

Wanouzhou is the reverse idea: a simple, practical guide for Chinese travellers coming to Europe for the first time. It is not a travel agency and not a visa service. It is a privately written guide that explains where misunderstandings often happen, what is useful to know before departure, and which websites or tools may help.
