With the direct connection between Shanghai and Stockholm, Sweden becomes more interesting as a separate northern Europe entry point for Chinese travellers.
Why Sweden?
Stockholm is doubly interesting for Chinese travellers: Air China links Stockholm directly with Beijing, and China Eastern is again flying directly between Shanghai Pudong and Stockholm Arlanda. The Shanghai route operates three times per week. This makes Stockholm a useful separate entry point into northern Europe.
Structure
Stockholm is the natural first stop: airport, old town, water, museums and onward travel into central Sweden.
Opera på Skäret near Kopparberg combines summer opera, a lakeside setting and an unusual opera house in a former sawmill. La Bohème is scheduled for summer 2026.
Mora can later become a Dalarna destination page, with lake, culture, nature and summer or winter travel angles.
Sweden should not simply be squeezed into a short Germany Switzerland itinerary. It works better as a separate northern Europe module.
Arrival from China
Schedules change, so travellers should always check before booking. For the page structure, the important point is that Stockholm now has both a Beijing and a Shanghai angle.
Air China links Beijing and Stockholm directly. For travellers from northern China or connecting via Beijing, this is the most natural Sweden entry.
China Eastern links Shanghai Pudong and Stockholm Arlanda three times per week. For Shanghai and eastern China, Sweden becomes a separate northern Europe gateway.
A direct arrival in Stockholm does not need to be squeezed into a Germany Switzerland itinerary. Stockholm, Dalarna, Opera på Skäret and lake routes can later grow as a separate module.
